KYPSELI is an independent publication initiated by a company of creators who live in or care for the neighborhood of Kypseli in Athens. The publication follows on the DIY tradition of fanzines, it is printed black and white on low gram paper; it comes out every two months in an edition of 300 numbered copies and is distributed independently at selected spots in the city of Athens and abroad. The subject matter varies but always relate –in a concrete or abstract way- to personal experiences of the neighborhood and the city and illustrate the ways and mores of a beehive –the literal meaning of the word “kypseli” in Greek- of artists who live and work in this area of the city.

Contributors and guests from Greece and abroad participate in the show with small pieces, interventions, editions and printed matter. A series of live events are programed as part of the show.

The show will be open September 8-30. The exact dates and times for the live events will be published every week on our websites. The fourth issue of the fanzine and limited copies of previous issues will be available at the venue.
